Mock Ward Mayoral Election for School is grassroots civic education that goes to the school, run in partnership with the Adachi Election Administration Commission. We work mainly with public middle and high schools.

02 The Reality | Where we stand
The ones who never sign up are the ones we want.
Anyone who signs themselves up for something like the Mock Ward Mayoral Election is already interested. The people we actually want to reach are the ones our own age who feel politics has nothing to do with them — the ones sitting with their heads down at the back of the room. So we stopped waiting for them and started going to the classroom instead.
We stand at the front not as adults teaching, but as people barely older than they are — and that is what turns "politics" into "us". Since March 2025 we have also been supporting the Adachi Election Administration Commission's own outreach classes.

Mock Ward Mayoral Election for School
Turning an extracurricular slot into a class where students become responsible for something. The programme links naturally to student council elections and homeroom activities, and runs from policy drafting through candidacy, speeches, voting and the count — at whatever scale and length your school can manage.

- Two to four periods, splittable across two days. A single period is normally a talk plus discussion and group work. The sister programme, Mock Principal Election, runs to the same length

- An in-school election model that works in a classroom, a multipurpose room or a gymnasium

- A room, a date, and distribution of the advance questionnaire. Materials, facilitation and voting equipment are ours
- Cost
- Guide price ¥30,000–50,000 per delivery, plus travel and venue costs at cost. For a single period we come as a speaker rather than a teacher (from ¥20,000 plus costs). We quote individually by scale and content, and we are flexible with nonprofits (compare the three options →）

Mock Principal Election
The same class with the school in place of the city. Students run as "principal" and take on the whole institution, from the rulebook to how it is run — turning problems they live with into policy, then campaigning, speaking and voting. Length and cost are identical to Mock Ward Mayoral Election for School. Choose between them on one question: which matters more to your students right now, the city or the school?
We have run it in the evening division of a metropolitan high school, and we design the theme and the format around the school and the students in front of us. The aim is not to transmit knowledge but to build the ability to hold a question, to argue, and to decide.

Adachi Election Administration Commission
Joint outreach classes since March 2025, combining the commission's public-awareness work with what students can design.
Middle and high schools, public and private
Public or private, day division or evening division. We plan it with the teachers first and build it around each school's situation.
Standardizing delivery
Standardizing lesson plans and materials so the programme can be reproduced in other schools and other regions.
05 Fee | What it costs
So that teenagers keep getting to practise democracy.
Both hands-on civic education classes run at the same scale and the same length. Osouji-tai, the cleanup class, is a single self-contained period for elementary schools, any year group.If only one period is available for civic education, we come as a speaker rather than a teacher — going from policy drafting to voting needs two. Everything is quoted individually by scale and content. We are flexible with nonprofit and budget-limited programmes, so please just ask.
For talks and lectures we work with your programme and your organization's regulations, and we are flexible with schools and nonprofits. Travel is normally charged at cost.
Every yen goes to running the organization and developing the materials. We would rather this were not a one-off event: to keep bringing a first taste of democracy to every classroom, we need it to be sustainable. Thank you for helping us keep it going.
