At Yashio City Hall, we spoke at a council member study session titled "Opening the Future of Local Assemblies: Standards for Evolving Local Councils through a Citizen's Perspective."
In the talk, we presented TEIGEN JP's Mock Ward Mayoral Election in Adachi City as a pioneering example of helping teenagers see politics as personally relevant. We explained the full process in which teenagers become candidates, develop policies, and experience an election, along with lessons learned through the initiative.
We then exchanged views with the council members, holding a candid discussion about how to engage people who rarely encounter politics in daily life and how local assemblies can build stronger connections with residents in the years ahead.
