At Aichi Prefectural Tokai Shofu High School, our executive director, Soka Horii, gave a talk on turning your own formative experience and your own drive into policy that moves society.
Drawing on the inaugural National High School Policy Championship, the class pushed past the well-behaved presentation that only explains a policy clearly, and stressed putting into words why you, in particular, are the one proposing it.
It centred on how to build the story only you can tell, and went as far as the practical craft of presenting — structuring a talk so that it lands with an audience, and knowing when to pause — in a form the students can use in their own inquiry work and policy proposals. A local cable television station covered the day.
TEIGEN JP builds each talk and outreach class around the school's own aims, for schools anywhere in Japan looking to deepen their inquiry work or civic education.

A student organization working on youth participation and civic education, with the mission of giving every teenager the chance to meet a self they have not yet met. Founded in Adachi, Tokyo in 2023; 38 high school and university students across the Tokyo area take part.
