The Clean Education Division is founded

PROJECT

TEIGEN JP is founding a Clean Education Division, treating cleaning time in elementary schools as time in which children build a social sense at the age when character forms, and working to make that understood.

The program came out of a high school member who, having studied abroad, found that schools elsewhere often have no system of children cleaning at all. Thinking about what cleaning is for from a comparative angle, it is a practical program for protecting, over the long run, what this country looks like, the eye its people have for it, and the habit of working together.

Masatsugu Goto, a third-year high school student, takes over as manager, with six high school members interested in education and regional renewal. The curriculum is being developed with Duskin Co., Ltd.

The class covers why the work is divided as it is, the basics of hygiene and safety, and where responsibility for keeping a space looking right actually sits — so that it goes beyond making things clean and builds both cooperation and an eye for the shared environment.

About TEIGEN JP

A student organization working on civic education and teenage participation in public life, driven by the gap in who gets opportunities. Our mission: every teenager should get to meet the person they have not yet become. Around forty high school and university students from Tokyo and the three neighbouring prefectures run it. Our programs include the Mock Ward Mayoral Election — held in the ward office and the assembly chamber, taking participants from drafting policy through candidacy to the count — and Osouji-tai, which builds a sense of ownership over shared space through cleaning. More than 1,000 people have now learned how democracy feels from the inside.
