TEIGEN JP is a student organization with a record of working as an equal with government, assemblies, schools and companies. We design partnerships that leave something concrete on both sides, rather than stopping at "we heard from young people".

What we can offer depends on who you are.

School

For schools

What we can do: civic education and cleanup outreach classes, tie-ins with inquiry-based learning, a mock election about your school rules, and shared use of teaching materials. When someone barely older than they are stands at the front, politics stops being about other people.

For example: Adachi Municipal Adachi Elementary School (three fifth-grade classes, cleanup education); civic education outreach classes in public middle and high schools; delivery in an evening division.

Government

For government and assemblies

What we can do: Co-hosting civic education events, supporting election-awareness work, planning and writing material aimed at teenagers, and working together on participation mechanisms such as a youth council.

For example: The Mock Ward Mayoral Election, co-created with the Adachi Ward Office, Ward Assembly, Board of Education and Election Administration Commission; support for the commission's own outreach classes since March 2025; contributions to and covers for its publications.

Corporate

For companies and foundations

What we can do: Developing a curriculum together, tie-ins with CSR and next-generation programs, sponsorship and grants, and your people joining as instructors or mentors.

For example: The cleanup curriculum developed with Duskin Co., Ltd. and delivered in schools — a model that puts corporate expertise together with what students can design.

NPO / Community

For nonprofits and community organizations

What we can do: Planning events together, joining community occasions, exchanging what we each know about youth participation, and helping each other get the word out.

For example: Membership of the Japan Youth Conference and JYPS; speaking at the Adachi 100-Person Meeting; exchanges with the Toronto Youth Cabinet in Canada.

Process

How it happens

STEP 1

Contact Us

Tell us by form or email what you want, roughly what shape, and when. We normally reply within three working days.

STEP 2

Online meeting

We agree what it is for, who it is for, and what should be different afterwards. There is no charge at this stage.

STEP 3

Design and division of work

A written proposal, a running order, costs where relevant, and who does what.

STEP 4

Preparation and publicity

Materials and documents, publicity, and coordination with everyone involved.

STEP 5

Delivery and review

Afterwards we share the questionnaire results and a written review, so the next one is better.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything?

The outreach classes — Mock Ward Mayoral Election for School and Mock Principal Election — both run two to four periods, at a guide price of ¥30,000–50,000 per delivery plus travel and venue costs at cost, depending on scale and content. For a single period we come as a speaker rather than a teacher (from ¥20,000 plus costs; we work with your programme and your organization's regulations). We are flexible with nonprofits. Every fee goes to running the organization and developing the materials, so that a teenager's first experience of democracy is not a one-off. Co-hosted events and curriculum development are quoted by scale.

Can you come during a weekday?

Our members are students, so we arrange it within what their schoolwork allows. We have delivered classes during weekdays before, and dates are negotiable.

Is political neutrality maintained?

TEIGEN JP supports no party, candidate or ideology. What we deal in is the institutions, the process and the experience of deliberating — and our record of working with schools and government stands behind the neutrality of that design.

How far ahead should we get in touch?

One to two months before the date for an outreach class, three months or more for a co-hosted event, gives us room to design it properly. If it is urgent, tell us anyway.

Can you come a long way?

We deliver classes and talks online. For in-person visits, talk to us about dates and costs.

Use of Support

Where your support goes.

This is run by high school and university students. Sponsorship and support follow the categories we published for the 2026 crowdfunding, and go to delivering and developing both pillars of our work.

1. Running the Mock Ward Mayoral Election	Venue and equipment, printing on the day (running orders, certificates), display panels, and the consumables it takes to run it.
2. Running Osouji-tai	Developing the cleanup curriculum, and the equipment and panels needed on the day.
3. Delivering outreach classes	Materials for civic education — markers, poster paper — and seminar fees for developing the program.
4. The general meeting and supporter gatherings	Venue, refreshments, documents and basic equipment for the general meeting and for gatherings with the people who have supported us.
5. Administration and day-to-day costs	Exhibitions, new programs, printing, keeping this website going — the basic running costs underneath everything.

The crowdfunding run in February and March 2026 for Mock Ward Mayoral Election 2026 raised ¥279,000 from 26 people, 139% of the target, and was used according to the categories above. The record is published in Newsroom. The form and scale of sponsorship, and how we report back on it, are agreed individually.

Our work exists because of these partnerships with government, companies and other organizations. Each is listed with that organization's permission.

Adachi City The municipality at the centre of it all: the Mock Ward Mayoral Election, the cleanup and civic education classes in its elementary schools, and our work with its election commission and board of education.
