For anyone who still feels politics is a long way off:
the Mock Ward Mayoral Election is back.
A day on the side of an election you never normally see.
Work in a group with politicians and people you haven't met,
and stand in an election run entirely by students.
The mayor's seat is yours to take.
Date: Thursday 20 March 2025 (public holiday), 10:00–17:00
Venue: Adachi Ward Office main hall and the assembly chamber
For: middle and high school students who can attend in person
Cost: free
Places: around 50, first come first served
Applications: Saturday 1 February to Tuesday 18 March

A student organization working on youth participation and civic education, with the mission of giving every teenager the chance to meet a self they have not yet met. Founded in Adachi, Tokyo in 2023; 38 high school and university students from 22 different schools across the Tokyo area take part.
