Our executive director, Soka Horii, competed in the Tokyo round of the 70th High School Students' Speech Contest for International Understanding and Cooperation, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United Nations Association of Japan, and received the Special Prize.
Twenty speakers who had come through the written selection competed in the Tokyo round at JICA Global Plaza.
Horii took the first theme — what young people are doing toward the SDGs as youth leaders — and gave a speech titled "Be Brave Little One!".
Next month they go on to the national round as Tokyo's representative, alongside the representatives of every other prefecture.
